So Chef Amaka gave a very insightful tips to this. Boil your spaghetti in a wide pot with enough water. Don't put dropping of oil, it doesn't do much. And stir periodically till it is cooked to your satisfaction. Hope this helps.

I see a lot of comments suggesting you add oil to the boiling pasta water which is wrong. Oil doesn’t mix with water, therefore it floats on top and doesn’t coat the pasta while’s cooking. It can make the pasta surface slippery preventing any sauce from sticking properly.
