Inmind Project
@Inminderc
IN-MIND is an ERC funded project. Aiming to understand brain functioning plasticity in relation to memory development, and language acquisition since birth
How do brains grasp numbers? This #review delves into the biological foundations of #numericallearning, integrating research from human and animal studies. Have a look to discover the neural, genetic, and molecular dimensions that underpin such a crucial skill for our daily life.

IN-MIND is in Birmingham for the Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) Conference 2024! #fNIRS2024 @fNIRS2024 Annika and Emma presented their projects, which used this method to explore various aspects of infant development. A special thanks to the families who made this possible!✨

New paper alert! 🚨 Our work highlights an early neurodevelopmental trajectory for numerical abilities and their potential influence on later cognitive development. Check out the full paper for more details! authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S02… @EVisibelli @AnnamariaPorru @b_butterworth

Last week, our wonderful post-doc Ana Flò led a week-long intensive course on the fundamentals and data analysis of fNIRS at @UniPadova - Thank you for the useful hands-on experience!

Yesterday the IN-MIND team had the pleasure to meet @gVallortigara, present our ongoing projects and show him our Labs! Thank you so much for this opportunity!
Visiting the lab of Silvia Benavides-Varela in Padua with her team of wonderful young scientists @BUnipd
Last week the IN-MIND group had the pleasure of participating in the distinguished lecture of professor @StanDehaene at Padova Neuoroscience Center. We also had the great opportunity to share our ongoing projects with him. We thank him for his time and feedback!

From 10 to 12 April, Giulia attended the Workshop 'Relations between space, language, and numbers' in Tübingen, Germany. She shared our results on the relationship between fingers’ usage and numerical skills during the second year of life ✌🏻🧮👶🏻 News coming soon, stay tuned!

Conference Learning &Plasticity2024 - Lapland. Silvia Benavides-Varela, @AnnamariaPorru and @EVisibelli presented our projects on memory consolidation at birth and numerical skills during development. We thank parents and children for supporting our research ✨

Outstanding fNIRS training @Inminderc @UniPadova
✨BCCCD24✨ Welcome back to our PostDoc Tamara Bastianello who presented the poster: “Sleep patterns and language development in infancy: a preliminary study” at #BCCCD24 in Budapest last weekend! Thanks to all the families and baby scientists who participated! @TamaraBastian01
