Another hot and humid day is expected with highs reaching the low 90s and heat index values near 105°. Thunderstorms, some with heavy rain, are likely, mainly across northern Central Indiana. When thunder roars, go indoors! #inwx
We are SO CLOSE on this one! We're primarily waiting on completion of items by CSX at the railroad crossings, but wanted to share this look at the Michigan and New York two-way conversion project!
Indy just got brighter...literally ✨ The new $7.2M stretch of Pogue's Run Trail glows in the dark and runs through Spades Park and Brookside. It won a 2025 ACEC Merit Award and is perfect for a walk, run, or ride any time of day 🌞🌙

A Heat Advisory has been issued for portions of western Indiana with heat index values near or above 105 expected on Wednesday. These values will expand across all of central Indiana Thursday. Heat indices will remain near or above 100 at times into early next week. #INwx
Contractors are continuing work on the Lafayette Road bridge over Little Eagle Creek. This bridge was originally built in 1923 and widened in 1935. Crews are repairing existing arches, and will construct a partial new asphalt roadway, bridge railings and sidewalks.

Heads up Indy! We're making progress on the Grassy Creek Greenway on the city's far eastside. This $3.3 million project is a multi-use trail along an abandoned east-west railroad corridor near Grassy Creek Regional Park, extending from Mitthoefer Road to Carroll Road.

Indy DPW crews with @afscmelocal725 have wrapped up work along 25th Street near Arlington Avenue on the city's northeast side.

Excessive rainfall may potentially cause flash flooding over all of Central Indiana from 1 PM this afternoon into Monday. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, and other low-lying areas. Multiple rounds of rain through Monday may produce flooding. #INwx
Indianapolis is looking smoother for cyclists and drivers alike! Work has pretty much wrapped up on this collaboration between the Indianapolis Department of Metropolitan Development and the Indianapolis Department of Public Works.
