News! Exciting news from the IHS! This is our programme for the coming year which begins on Monday 9th September.

The final meeting of our season will be on Monday 12th at 7-7:30pm and given by Janet Seward who will be looking at the past through local newspapers.

Kelly's Directories all had an accompanying map which showed the roads that existed at the time (although there are some errors). They fill in the gaps between the OS maps. This is from the 1899-1900 edition. What can you see?

I wrote about the Griggs family, their building activities, and their connection with The Drive in Ilford a few years ago. But one thing puzzled me...what happened to Albert's sister Edith? She was recorded living at 37 The Drive with her mother in 1901 and 1911 but... 1/
