What a fantastic day in Cooperstown with David Ortiz. mlb.com/news/david-ort…
Bregman said last night, "“Yeah, getting there. I’m gonna get it squared away here, and get back to rolling.”. Postscript, a three-run, pinch-hit homer today. It's 5-1, Red Sox.
All four of these guys have influenced me in different ways. It was a pure pleasure to read all of them growing up and to get to know them later. Four legends.
Shaughnessy, Montville,Ryan, Gammons toss first pitches at Falmouth Cape League game
Very interesting that the Red Sox asked him to play first base and he declined. If only they knew how much he preferred it!
Rafael Devers says he prefers playing in the field over DH: “It keeps me active. It keeps my head out of just thinking about the next at-bat...I’d rather be on the field than in the cage hitting all the time and thinking about the next at-bat.”
Update on this: Sheehan Friday, Kershaw Saturday and May Sunday. Ohtani will only hit in Boston.
Things can always change, but the way things line up right now, the Dodgers would have BC alum Emmet Sheehan, future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw and two-way megastar Shohei Ohtani on the mound at Fenway next weekend. Bello/Crochet/Buehler for Boston.
At least Narvaez is in good company. Johnny Bench was the one who interfered on that last walkoff catchers interference in 1971.
The Red Sox have lost road extra inning games in various ways all year but tonight is one I've never seen. While walkoff catchers interference (on an instant replay) will draw attention, not moving the automatic runner was what really cost them. It has happened numerous times.
Load management time for me again. Please follow @Aaron_Bracy for Red Sox news in Philly the next three days. Back atcha from 98 degree Fenway on Friday.
Love this. Amazing how a team from 50 years ago still resonates so much. What a unique group this was, led by the Gold Dust Twins.
I really enjoyed this post…A sweet ambush: Fred Lynn and Jim Rice’s bond still gold 50 years after 1975 Red Sox pennant - masslive.com masslive.com/sports/2025/07…
One of my all time favorites to cover. Got to admire the way he came back from adversity.
One of the best human beings in baseball, Daniel Bard, has retired. Let us celebrate him.
This is a money quote by Alex Bregman on Garrett Crochet: “When you need a stopper, he's a stopper. When you need somebody to keep it going, he keeps it going. When you need someone to set the tone and be the ace of the staff, that’s what he’s done. He's delivered time and time…
The Red Sox ride homers 19, 20 from Abreu and a three-run PH blast from Bregman to a 6 to 1 win behind Crochet at Wrigley. They are iff to Philly for the next three days.
Taking in the final three outs of Wrigley weekend up close rather than fighting 40,000 people in the concourse to get to the clubhouse.

Have a day, Wilyer Abreu. Another homer, this one a solo shot to right.
Not surprising that Bregman only has two career PH homers, considering he almost never sits. His last one was on Sept. 8, 2021 against the Mariners.
After not hitting for Yoshida against the lefty in the sixth, Cora does so in the eighth, as Bregman to hit against Pomeranz.
Error by Rafaela nullified when Whitlock induces a perfectly-placed DP ball to Story. Nice Steve Pearce-stretch by Romy.
Humorously, Abreu showed bunt at the beginning of the at-bat.
Wilyer Abreu comes through with the swing of the weekend so far for the Red Sox, a towering, two-run shot to right. It's 2-1, Boston.
