Our open-labelled, non-randomised cross-over trial is published. We studied the effects of short-term ketosis-suppression in healthy women on long-standing ketosis. Ten lean (BMI 20.5 ± 1.4), metabolically healthy, pre-menopausal women (age 32.3 ± 8.9) maintaining nutritional…

Just back from the fabulous @keto_live conference in St Moritz. A university of Keto ! I learnt ketones are not just a fuel but also have a hormonal effect on gene expression. Nothing I ate all week spiked my blood sugar, the sun shone and the alpine flowers were amazing 🤩
It took @I_mitochondria & me about 5 secs to spot the non-sense in this paper... Study claims keto diets are associated with a higher risk of all cancers. The highest 'keto' group consumed (avg) 181g of carb (37% of energy). Don't damn keto without studying keto!🙄😡
Thank you Alice Clifford for sharing the story about my journey in studies, personally funding research, to conducting my PhD trial at The University of Westminster, School of Life Sciences, in London UK. Interview: Westminster researcher and funder Dr Isabella Cooper leads the…
Lots of great speakers at the #KetoLive conference in Switzerland. I spoke about how chronically suppressing ketosis, results in hypoketonaemia/hyperinsulinaemia, this goes on to increase growth factors that are highly involved in increasing risk of and propagating cancer growth.…

Incredibly interesting tweet on the ketogenic diet and cancer. The mechanisms are not just glucose as cancer fuel.
It was great to be a part of @PHCukorg this past weekend. My talk focused on a less spoken reason as to why ketogenic metabolic therapy (KMT) is effective in treating cancer. Aside from restricting glucose as their primary fuel, the endogenous production of ketones (excluding…
Please share with everyone the link to purchase the livestream replay of the whole PHC weekend. The funds raised from this helps to bring speakers in from around the world for these events that share this invaluable knowledge with the medical world and the public to be empowered.…

RQ was significantly lower in the two nutritional ketosis phases of the KetoSAge trial, breathing out less CO2. An RQ below 0.7, indicated that some of the ketones produced were not used for energy production, and likely used for anti-oxidative and epigenetic regulatory…
1/3 What if going Keto, carnivore or very low carb could help save the planet via actually breathing out less carbon dioxide? Turns out burning fat instead of carbs you breathe out 30% less CO2 This is calculated via the Respiratory Quotient So a carnivore breathes out 120kg less…
🎤 Up now: Dr. Isabella Cooper (@I_mitochondria ) She’s diving into long-term ketosis and an exciting breakthrough in cancer treatment — KEMO therapy. #PHC2025
Brilliant insights on #cancer from some of the best minds in the field 👏 @tnseyfried @drmclphillips @anthony_chaffee @I_mitochondria

Cholesterol lowering mania➡️ ⬆️ contributed to violent crime rates, childhood aggression, depression? Papers Conclusions: low cholesterol is associated with increased subsequent criminal violence

If breakfast cereals, porridge, oats, vegetable (seed) oils and fibre lower cholesterol, then perhaps this might be contributing to “teenage-rage” or at least mental health issues and worsen into adulthood. Low cholesterol is associated with increased subsequent criminal…
Plant lectins concanavolin A and phytohaemagglutinin (common in many legumes) mimic insulin mutagenic and metabolic actions directly via glycoprotein residues of the insulin receptor on the cell plasma membrane and also on insulin receptors on the nuclear envelope, generating the…

Our ancestors played in the sun for millions of years, but in the 70's & 80's the sun started causing skin cancer & aging & we all developed sunscreen deficiencies??

Simplified: New study reveals that body composition & thyroid markers, not saturated fat, predict LDL-cholesterol change in lean, healthy women on a ketogenic diet! The article states that the body fat percentage and lean muscle mass were the key factors in predicting…
Hey folks I need a favor!! This is a very good paper and if you could retweet/repost this and even better make your own post about this paper that would be awesome as more people need to know this stuff- this is how we fight back!!! frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…
