With the 20-year review just around the corner, what’s next for #WSIS? This week has shown that: -We are ecosystem builders -The WSIS platform is ready to take on challenges of the AI era -The WSIS story is far from over… And the next chapter is ours to shape!

Digital innovation has opened up incredible opportunities, but has also exposed stark inequalities. Policy decisions, particularly around emerging tech, will be consequential in defining whether and how these technologies impact the lives + livelihoods of all people #WSIS

Our #ITU160 + #UN80 anniversaries remind us that tech and diplomacy must evolve hand-in-hand if we are to keep these institutions fit for a future coming at us fast. Great discussions with digital diplomats on leveraging innovation to benefit the people we serve #WSIS #AIforGood

This transformative AI moment demands more than admiration or alarm. It demands dialogue and concerted action on inclusive, forward-looking governance that drives innovation and builds public trust. Governance that minimizes risks and leaves no one behind. #AIforGood

Time to take on the responsibility of AI stewardship with the same energy + momentum at which AI itself is advancing. My hope is that our #AIforGood Governance Dialogue can help steer the development of AI in a way that is not only visionary but also practical and human-centered.

For 20 years, #WSIS has proven multistakeholder cooperation works. Together, we have created a time-tested platform where we are all working toward the shared goal of putting technology at the service of sustainable digital development for all.

The @UN Group on the Information Society brings together 31 UN entities + 17 observers to transform the WSIS vision into real, measurable impact in people’s lives + livelihoods. There is no better time to reaffirm and strengthen our cooperation than now, ahead of #WSIS+20 Review
