A female Asian #elephant calf was found stranded on a riverbed in the Sonai Rupai WLS in #Assam earlier this week. It was swept by a surge in water level due to heavy pre-monsoon #rains. Promptly rescued by @assamforest, it is currently being cared for at #CWRC, #Kaziranga.

2 Asiatic #blackbear cubs (6-8 weeks old), have been admitted to CWRC. They were found in Morongial village, near Dissoi Valley Reserve Forest on the Assam-Nagaland border. Despite the forest department's efforts, the mother could not be located, raising suspicions of poaching.
