Rural people in Michoacán drive sustainable development while protecting the environment. I saw for myself the diverse products local entrepreneurs here make from bark and resin. They're among the 200,000+ small-scale producers in #Mexico supported by @IFAD, @theGCF & @CONAFOR.

As the world rethinks financing for development, here are my 3 takeaways from #FFD4 👇 #FinancingOurFuture

At #FFD4, I commended @Financegovpk Minister H.E. Muhammad Aurangzeb for his forward-looking reforms. Agriculture is central to #Pakistan's development agenda, and @IFAD is ready to support the country in promoting inclusive, sustainable rural development.

#Japan is a key supporter of @IFAD. We share an understanding of the importance of the private sector in rural development. @MofaJapan_en Parliamentary Vice Minister Hisashi Matsumoto and I discussed how to scale up models that work and reaffirmed our strong partnership. #FFD4

At #FFD4 Deputy Prime Minister @SalahJama and I discussed deepening our collaboration on food systems and rural development. @IFAD is ready to support #Somalia in mobilizing additional external financial resources to increase food security and enhance rural resilience.

Closing the rural investment gap will not be achieved through fragmentation, but through integration. By linking the capital & scale of IFIs & MDBs, like @IFAD, @isdb_group & @the_IDB, with the reach of NDBs, we can turn local projects into national transformation. #FFD4

Great to meet @OdileRenaud at #FFD4 yesterday. With @EBRD expanding into Sub-Saharan Africa, there are many opportunities for collaboration with @IFAD. Together, we can strengthen agriculture, food systems and the private sector in the region.
