An aside on Triples. I pushed & pushed within MOD for clarification in response to what was said in press, Parliament & by campaigners. Again & again, I said in public what very senior officials & military had briefed me. It is hugely frustrating that proved to be wrong. [8/25]
And then the debate over the Triples (a group of around 1,500 Afghan special forces who’d worked alongside UK military). By early 2024, it was clear MOD decision making on these troops was flawed & would need review with an expectation many would now be deemed eligible. [7/25]

There is a lot of deflection taking place by politicians this morning, suggesting that the court kept the superinjunction in place and that had to be overcome. That's not true or not complete- the government kept it in place by repeatedly applying for its renewal.
