Quick little update on a couple OHL 1st rounders.. I'm told both Porter Martone and Kashawn Aitcheson are keeping all their options open as to where to play next year. Some schools are keeping spots open. Others, like BU, appear to be done filling holes.
Sounds like Roslovic's camp is looking for a 2 or 3-year deal at just over 3M per.
For those asking, not sure where this goes but the Canucks continue to talk with UFA Jack Roslovic's camp.
They got their man. Porter Martone at MSU should be a lot of fun. Line him up with Cayden Lindstrom and look out.
Michigan State missed out on Gavin McKenna and lost reigning Hobey Baker winner, Isaac Howard on the same day. Expect them to very aggressive in recruiting one or more of the big name CHLers still undecided on where to play next season - particularly Porter Martone.
The Leafs just traded a 2028 4th. That pick? A 15-year-old born in 2010. Can’t drive. Can’t watch R-rated movies. Probably at a hockey camp right now, and already part of an NHL trade tree. We are fossils.

Not even the the prospect of a decentralized draft future can dampen the time off. #SummerOfKoa
If the league’s moving on from a centralized draft, it must replace it with a true annual gathering. Coverage and relationships are built face-to-face. The game needs it. The fans deserve it.
NHL GMs have now voted on re-centralizing the Draft. While the league has yet to alert teams to the final results, it appears the majority have voted to keep it decentralized. If that holds, what a miss.
