Designing new AI Products at Google. Former Tweep and @BriefNewsApp cofounder (acq’d by Twitter). Doing my part to build great things.
So true! There’s so much to discover to make actually useful (not just novel) experiences here, and designers have exactly the right skills to navigate it. Speaking of — @MicahSivitz is hiring for principle designers to work on AI @figma Come help us👇 job-boards.greenhouse.io/figma/jobs/515…
I love LLMs, so I’m puzzled by the lack of breakout LLM products. Then, I realized teams I work with are tripping over the same thing (a lot), and that barrier may just be causing the drought… So I wrote about it! Would love thoughts. docs.google.com/document/d/1_W…
“LLMs feel like genuine magic. Yet, somehow we haven’t been able to use this amazing new wand to churn out amazing new products. This is puzzling.” Nick asks if the solution involves a new discipline - AI Designers The design complement to @aiDotEngineer?

I still can't believe @daringfireball wrote "[Brief] has a better and more iOS-like design and interaction model than Apple’s own News app. I don’t say this lightly, but its design was nearly perfect." I feel so proud of what we made :') daringfireball.net/linked/2021/07…
Your piece about Brief is the nicest thing anyone has said about anything I’ve helped build. Thank you for taking the time to write it, and thank you to the whole Brief team for pouring so much passion into making such a lovely thing.
I still miss Brief every day.
You know you're crushing it as a leader when when of your reports picks this as your profile photo. @callmeparri, you're amazing.

I’m impatient, mostly because I know it’s possible to move fast. Much faster than most people think. Some excellent examples. patrickcollison.com/fast
Never really got why Apple was a company of lifers that deeply values tenure — or worse, thought it was a bug. But this makes it make sense. If you value taste, you respect experience. You prove yourself by repeatedly exhibiting judgment across years and decades of collaboration.

The goal for software projects isn’t to avoid technical debt. The goal is to make something useful for other people.
Very grateful to work with incredible people — who, given where I work, will hopefully see this
