🧵: I grew up in a banana republic. Canadians have no idea what they'll get by electing Conservatives Canadian sensibilities are not ready for what's coming If you think Ford, Smith, Moe, or Higgs corruption is bad you've seen NOTHING: Pierre Poilievre's will shock you #cdnpoli
Ok, but trying to overthrow democracy and install a far-right junta through an insurrection IS a heinous crime 🤷♂️

Pro-Trump Christian extremist musician to play Alberta legislature grounds in Edmonton. His visit falls on the first day of Edmonton’s PrideFest. What could go wrong? (And, of course, the UCP is helping him). edmontonjournal.com/news/local-new…
It’s amazing how many Americans still don’t understand they are paying the tariffs. Not anyone else. Them. The propaganda is so insane lol.
CBSA messed up letting him in in the first place. 1. Supports a listed terror group proud boys 2. Has a DUI record which makes you inadmissible 3. Sold merchandise at concert without work permit violating immigration laws.
Wait. Sean Feucht is a known associate of an organisation listed as a terror group in Canada? Does @cselley know that? Or is Selley cool with foreign terror-supporting performers gallivanting across Canada unless they've said nasty things about the IDF?
Don’t understand why educated people are calling these “trade deals”. This is extortion. This is no different than the mafia driving around to different legitimate business owners (countries) collecting protection money. The deal is if you do not pay you go broke.
Recent U.S. reciprocal tariff trade deals (15–19 %) , still nothing for Canada. 🇪🇺 European Union – Deal agreed TODAY → 15 % baseline tariff on most EU goods in exchange for ~$600 billion in EU investment in the U.S. 🇯🇵 Japan – Deal announced July 22–23, 2025 → 15…
This column is a fantastic demonstration of how municipalities act as gatekeepers and NIMBY-enablers -- and why the federal and certain provincial governments have been correct to hold their feet to the political fire.
New column: a conversation with the mayor of Windsor, a city that chose not to apply for the housing accelerator $$$ Their mayor is asking Carney to rethink the federal conditions eg 4-plexes allowed anywhere in the city & focus on affordability nationalpost.com/news/canada/ma…
Today is a good day to remember that Pierre Poilievre is a multi-property landlord who lives in a fully-staffed taxpayer-funded mansion, who rents one house to MP's (rent paid by taxpayers) + the other to his wife for her "business" 🤔 His life is funded by taxpayers + loopholes

Trump's so-called 'deals' with Japan & the EU have no binding commitments to anything--other than continued 15% tariffs on their exports to the US. All the more reason for Canada to steer clear of these photo-ops. Here's my take for @MDimaintv @CBCNews: cbc.ca/player/play/vi….
If Europeans were paying attention (or being told the truth), they should be beyond appalled by this "deal": bbc.com/news/articles/… It's nothing more than one of the most expensive imperial tributes in history. Just a massive one-way transfer of wealth with no reciprocal…
“Canadians are not vague or passive about what they want in a leader. They want someone who puts the country first, understands their challenges, and brings a clear, steady hand. Right now, Mark Carney is meeting those expectations better than Pierre Poilievre, not just with his…
🚨 New from Abacus Data: Canadians have a clear idea of what they want in a Prime Minister, and right now, Mark Carney is closer to that ideal than Pierre Poilievre. #cdnpoli Read the full results → abacusdata.ca/carney-vs-poil…
Seems like a situation Canada's Cons might want to be more delicate with given that <checks notes> they were handed their asses for the fourth time in a row and their noxious leader lost his seat because they always appear to be more aligned with MAGA than with Canadians.
🚨 Sean Feucht just brought his MAGA worship grift tour to Canada—and it went exactly how you’d expect: ❌ Banned in 6 cities 💥 Faked a fire bomb in Montreal 🇨🇦 Paint Canada as "anti-Christian" Let’s break it down. 🧵 /1 open.substack.com/pub/deanblunde…
David used a lot of words to say he’s a racist fuck.
Just went to a park, my family and I were the only old stock Canadians there. This country is cooked.
Hmmmm. Looks like the trade deal engineered by [checks notes] Justin Trudeau and Chrystia Freeland, despite the best sabotage efforts of Donald Trump, is paying dividends for us amid Trump's lunacy.
“A Globe and Mail analysis of U.S. trade data shows the majority of Canadian goods flowed across the border duty-free in May, with Canada enjoying an effective tariff rate that was well below that of most other countries...” Stay on Target. 🇨🇦 theglobeandmail.com/business/artic…
Another way of saying that is we'll have the lowest effective tariff rate of all countries trading with the US save Mexico as CUSMA goods (90% of exports) are excluded. If we had the Europe, Japan, or UK "Deal" our tariffs would go up.
This is disingenuous for two reasons: 1) the 50% steel and aluminum apply to everyone. 2) once proper preferential rates are claimed you’re looking at about 60-80% of trade going to be CUSMA compliant. 2024 levels are massively understated for administrative reasons. /1
US tariffs with: 🇯🇵 15% 🇪🇺 15% 🇨🇦 25% on non-CUSMA (35% after August 1; 50% on aluminum and steel)
