Commission staff hosted Salome Samadashvili and Grigol Gegelia to discuss the crackdown on political opposition, plight of political prisoners, and the increasing reach of Russia in Georgia.

On this day 11 years ago 298 people were murdered in one of the many crimes committed by Russia. It was a Russian Buk missile that shot down MH17 airliner over eastern Ukraine. 298 people. Including 80 chidren.

Natalya Estemirova was murdered 16 years ago today for her crucial work as a #humanrights defender documenting grave human rights abuses in #Chechnya. Today, the situation for HRDs in Chechnya and all of Russia continues to be dire, and impunity for Estemirova's murder continues.
