Every student and teacher deserves to be in a school environment where they have the opportunity to leave their legacy. That can only happen if we cultivate a culture in which they believe they can embrace their vulnerability and be supported by their peers.
Holding a student after school solely as punishment may work for some kids, but not all. You know what does work, though? Using that time to establish a genuine and sincere relationship by sitting with them and spending time listening, sharing, and teaching.
