Today, I have inaugurated the newly constructed headquarters of the Ministry of Endowments & Islamic Affairs. The completion of this project represents a significant step forward in strengthening our institutional infrastructure & enhance the quality of public service delivery.

I participated in the Somali Youth Day commemoration in Mogadishu today. Thirteen patriots, under colonial rule and without today’s opportunities, led Somalia to independence and statehood. Today’s youth must shape our democracy and lead the fight against international terrorism.

On this International Labour Day, I commend the resilience & dedication of Somali workers whose efforts & sacrifices drive our nation’s progress. The enactment of the new Somali Labour Code marks a key step in safeguarding their rights & building a just, inclusive labour system.

Today, I stand once again on the frontlines where our brave heroes are making the ultimate sacrifice to free Somalia from the grip of Kharajite terrorists. This is a fight for our nation’s future which we must win. There’s no turning back. With Allah’s will, Somalia will prevail.

Islam is a religion of peace, unity & compassion. Last night, I had the honour of presiding over the conclusion of the Annual Holy Quran Competition, celebrating our youth’s dedication to the Quran. We remain committed to the Islamic values as foundation for peace & justice.

I attended the IGAD 43rd Extraordinary Virtual Assembly on South Sudan today. Somalia unequivocally calls for immediate cessation of hostilities, de-escalation and a return to dialogue. Peace and stability must be prioritised to safeguard the future of the South Sudanese people.

Today, I spoke with President Salva Kiir Mayardit and First Vice President Riek Machar about the security situation in South Sudan. Somalia stands in full solidarity with the people of South Sudan and remains committed to supporting efforts for a peaceful and lasting resolution.
