The Summer Sixers roster shows two clear themes: local talent and plenty of long forwards. Here’s a quick look at the new faces — plus some familiar ones — all set to hit the court in just 4 days! libertyballers.com/2025/7/1/24459…
Summer League is wrapping up. It’s always tough to draw firm conclusions from such a unique setting, but a few things stood out. Here’s a look at the good, the bad, and the ugly from some key Summer Sixers: libertyballers.com/2025/7/18/2446…
The Sixers have waived Ricky Council IV. What does it mean for their final roster spot? libertyballers.com/2025/7/25/2447…
Looks like the Sixers are opening up an additional roster spot. They had one open, with Grimes pending as a RFA. Now they have two, not counting Grimes.

More workout footage of Jared McCain — steadily doing more and more, as expected.
I was wrong about the Sixers-Celtics Springer trade. Morey said the 2nd they got would be more useful — I pushed back on that. But he was right: Springer’s offense never came around, and the pick ended up more valuable (Boston even had to attach stuff to dump him).

Former Sixer Lonnie Walker is headed back overseas.
Lonnie Walker IV is signing with @EuroLeague power Maccabi Tel Aviv, his agent George S. Langberg of GSL Sports Group tells @TheSteinLine. Walker, who finished last season with the Sixers, has an NBA buyout clause until Aug. 1 and will be one of Europe’s highest-paid players.
Jared Butler to the Suns: the NBA’s worst kept secret
The NBA’s worst kept secret is about to blow up and tons of people who aren’t actually surprised are going to act incredibly surprised.
I found a jersey at TJ Maxx. Not just any jersey though, an NBA jersey. Not of a team. Just the NBA.

Would obviously impact Philly’s unprotected ‘28 Clippers pick. I’m a bit skeptical. If Giannis went there, you’d expect him to join another star or two — but the only notable contract on their books that year is Zubac. Free agency’s thin, and they’ve got no draft capital.
Lawrence Frank and the LA Clippers’ are gearing up to pursue Giannis Antetokounmpo in free agency during the Summer of 2027, per @ZachLowe_NBA and @BillSimmons. BS: "I think that's their endgame. That Summer in 2027. 'Short term? Lets try to win. Long term? Giannis' and that's…
People keep linking Ben to the Suns, but every legit Phoenix source has already shot that down. My guess is NYK. I’d be surprised if it’s anyone else. Also, imagine telling someone 6-7 years ago that Ben would be on a vet min at 29. They’d think you’re insane!
The Ben Simmons sweepstakes are heating up, and he’s expected to make a decision on where he’ll be taking his talents within the next week, per @WindhorstESPN “I’m told he’s probably going to make a choice in the next week. Kings, Suns, Knicks & Celtics have all been connected…
Sometimes you just gotta throw on some cowboy boots
Baffling that the NBA doesn’t invest more in content like this. Happy to see more and more teams providing insight into their draft process behind the scenes.
Reposting this cause it was such an introspective and great read from TJ McConnell (who is apparently Twitter-less). Highly recommend reading this: theplayerstribune.com/tj-mcconnell-n…

Oh wow, I didn’t expect this. That’s a pretty cool storyline. Not sure how the calculus works with Scott + Jrue, but they’ll have a year to not worry about that. Good for Dame!
BREAKING: Nine-time NBA All-Star Damian Lillard is finalizing a three-year, $42 million contract to return to the Portland Trail Blazers, sources tell ESPN. Deal is expected to include a player option in 2027-28 and a no-trade clause. A storybook reunion home for the 35-year-old.
From @JakeLFischer: “The expectation persists that the sides will ultimately hash out no less than a three-year deal [with Quentin Grimes].” open.substack.com/pub/marcstein/…
What a debut offseason for Onsi Saleh. He added NAW, Luke Kennard, and Kristaps Porzingis while also adding an unprotected pick and Asa Newell (who looks and fits good). Houstan is a weird player, but for a minimum he’s an excellent gamble for them.
JUST IN: The Atlanta Hawks and Caleb Houstan agreed to a one-year deal, sources told @hoopshype. The 22-year-old shot 50.7% from 3-point range after the All-Star break and has improved his 3-point shooting in each of his first 3 NBA seasons. Agent Jason Glushon finalized the deal
