3/3 the last exercise was to locate and recover a casualty from the engine room and build a recovery system to the deck of the ship. @HantsIOW_fire

2/3 the team had to identify the full risks on board and build an operational plan that would enable the safe recovery of casualties in direct/difficult environments. @HantsIOW_fire

1/3 Today’s Wednesday training was surrounding our confined-space capability. We had the honour of using SS @Shieldhall which is part of the national historic fleet. 2 exercises were conducted within the ships ballast tanks & engine gantry.

Some of the team have joined the wider @UK_ISAR_TEAM for an exercise in Bristol focusing on an international flood capability team. Hampshire & IOW provide a ‘base of operations’ team. @HantsIOW_fire

This past weeks round up. 2 x thatch roof fires where our TL’s went for structural assessment, 1 x Bariatric rescue where we assisted in shoring operations, and Wednesday training that was focused on SWAH/LACE skills. @HantsIOW_fire

Finally, the last casualty was located on the other side of a debris filled walkway where the team used the final rescue as a medical drill being assessed by a in-service IEC (Immediate Emergency Care) instructor.@HantsIOW_fire

After another breach the team worked they way through a corridor where they were faced with a vertical tunnel. A tripod was constructed to allow access for the team.@HantsIOW_fire

Once through the second breach, a further casualty was located and removed from incident.@HantsIOW_fire

Entry was made where the 1st casualty was located and removed. The team then had to continue with a second breach point required. @HantsIOW_fire

After a 360-assessment was made in conjunction with an operational plan, the team began by ‘Breaking & Breeching’ a point of entry. @HantsIOW_fire

Busy week for the team. A few calls for the TL’s, and a team exercise conducted on Wednesday. Thank you @Basingstoke_01 for accommodating us! The scenario was a building collapse of a complex structure where we first tested our mobilisation of assets and a Tac-Ad. @HantsIOW_fire

Today’s Wednesday training was ‘lifting & moving’. The team had to complete a mini journey with a 250kg load using levers, rollers, bipod, & tripod. @HantsIOW_fire

🚨call-out 23/2/25 @ 03:39. The team were called to a devastating fire that damaged a 17th century building in Romsey. We provided structural monitoring during operations and fed back our results to the incident commander. @HantsIOW_fire

🚨Week overview:maintenance was conducted on our modules ready for a Babcock service, the weekly training session which covered metal shoring, and 2 team call-outs. 1 call was to assist in a fire in a cavity wall where the team cored holes to identify fire spread. @HantsIOW_fire

Today’s team training was ‘Breaking & Breeching’ utilising multiple tools in both ‘clean’ & ‘dirty’ breech approaches. @HantsIOW_fire

🚨PAGER ALERT📟🚨 A Team Leader and members of the team are mobile to assist with an agricultural fire in Totton with our Manitou telehandler.

The teams weekly roundup- besides both a maintenance & training day, the TL’s have responded to 2- calls to assist @SCAS999 & a full team mobilisation to assist @HantsPolice @hiwfrs_control @HantsIOW_fire islandecho.co.uk/mans-body-foun…
Today team members concentrated on specialisations in the form of ‘hot cutting’. This skill is employed to create a safe scene of operations by removing identifiable risks. @HantsIOW_fire @FireResilience

Todays training session was a skills session in timber shoring. Shoring is the provision of temporary support to damaged buildings or structures, and is the last resort under our hazard mitigation process. @HantsIOW_fire
