What I love most abt filmmaking is once it's in the world it's for the audience to love, like, dislike, and interpret. As a Production Designer I find the meaning in the place, in the characters, for me, for the director and then give it to the audience. Cheers! #SinnersMovie

#SinnersMovie Tamales came to the Mississippi Delta early 1900s via Mexican Migrant workers. The Migrant workers shared their recipes w/ Black Sharecroppers, and Tamales became a beloved staple in the Delta to this Day. Sollys Hot Tamales in Vicksburg is the most famous I'm told.
#SinnersMovie Downtown on the Black Side of town I named the Cafe "Black Bird Cafe." On March 26th, 1998 when I was giving birth to my son I played Black Bird by the Beatles in the hospital room, "Take these broken wings and learn to fly." Those words feel like my life.

The Green Mill Cocktail Lounge was my inspiration for the Juke & Sammy's Jazz Club, Pearlines. I use to go to the Green Mill from Cincinnati, OH in the 90s to see all kinds of bands. I never forgot it or all the stories about it. The history fit Smoke and Stack. #SinnersMovie

My Favorite Set #SinnersMovie Annie's on Maybell Plantation in the film. We filmed it at Creedmoor Plantation in St. Bernard Parish, a location I've filmed at before. I've always been drawn to this particular spot on this property. I knew this is where Annie's store/home was.
