GateHub has put a global freeze on the XAU trustline and asset with little notification. The DAO had some exposure to this asset. Which is now frozen and can only be burnt. This raises a serious question on trusting asset issuers and other @GateHub issued IOU assets.

This is incorrect. The XRPL ledger is already decentralized. When XAODAO launches it will govern dispersal of XRPLF developer funds, not the ledger.
