I’m quoting this as a means to shine the light on how rampant an issue this is for e-commerce as a whole. Whether it’s bots or spammers this is not isolated as just a @gamestop issue. We witnessed the exact same last console cycle in late ‘20 coming into ‘21.
The Switch 2 Pre-Order chaos lasted about 2 hours until everything sold out. Best Buy had endless “in line” wait times that always timed out. Target wouldn’t let you add to cart or finalize payment or would cancel orders. Walmart was also endless “in line” screens.
