An effective vision should not only rally people, it should REPEL people. Casting a vision is not about pleasing the crowd, it’s about fulfilling the mission. If you’re more concerned about keeping people happy, chances are you’re drifting from mission.
Jesus likened the hearts of men to soil & the Word of God to seed. Prayer is how we prepare the soil & the Holy Spirit brings the rain. Never go to the pulpit, to plant the seeds of the gospel, without first plowing the ground in prayer & prepping the skies for rain. #pastors
Churches in decline have one thing in common: they love their ministries more than their mission. They are driven by programs that make leaders “feel good” rather than a purpose that should compel them.
Pastors should preach messages that 1. Present the biblical text 2. Explain the text 3. Apply the text 4. Seek anointing on the text 5. Exalt Jesus thru the text 6. Call for a response to the text
Sometimes it’s not “church hurt.” Sometimes it’s accountability. Sometimes it’s being told “No.” Sometimes it’s not getting your way. Sometimes it’s discipline. Sometimes it’s growing up. Just because something “hurts” doesn’t mean it’s bad.
Young David lifting the head of Goliath is proof that we can raise a generation of teenagers who are unafraid to stand for God in this culture and defeat the giants of our evil age.

You will never grow beyond your ability to receive correction.
The devil wants to fill your mind with chaos. He’ll remind of your failures, mess-ups, blunders, bad decisions & sin. He’ll rob you of your peace & bind you up in turmoil. Don’t let him. Fight the lies. Pull down the strongholds. Focus on Gods mercy, love & Grace. God’s got you!
CALLING ALL MEN! The Mission Church is hosting a one-day, power-packed event for the men of New York. Mark your calendar for Saturday, November 8 and join your brothers in Christ for this life-changing event!

The biggest obstacle to answered prayer is not praying. James 4:2, you do not have because you do not ask.
No amount of lighting, staging, props or video clips can make up for a weak sermon & poor content. People get shallow entertainment all week long; they come to church because they’re hungry for the Word & authentic connection to God. We need anointed pastors, not clown shows.
If you want anointing in the pulpit, there must be anointing in the prep. It’s the practice of prayer & study—the process of digging & mining the Word—that uncovers the precious truths and releases greater unction. Don’t bypass the essential disciplines of proper preparation.
Temptation will come. Offenses will happen. Jesus said, “Watch and pray lest you enter temptation. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.” Don’t wait for the trial to pray. Build strength before the battle. Spiritual discipline protects you when your flesh wants to quit
Inwardly focused, small vision leaders are more interested in preserving the past and repeating what is comfortable to them rather than cultivating creative, new approaches to breaking through barriers to innovation and growth. Nowhere is this more predominant than in the church
A word for the men: God made you a man, so be a man. Be sensitive but be assertive. Be kind but be bold. Be humble but be strong. Be loving but speak the truth. Be willing to yield but know when to stand your ground. Be masculine, be a man. It’s not toxic. #FathersDay
Dangers ahead! Temptation Offense Apathy Sin Jesus said, “Watch and pray lest you enter temptation. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.” Don’t wait for the trial to pray. Build strength before the battle Spiritual discipline protects you when your flesh wants to quit
Teachers are not better than fathers. Coaches are not better than fathers. Counselors are not better than fathers. Pastors are not better than fathers. Fathers are God’s design for raising, training, and disciplining kids. #FathersDay
Too many people are walking around depressed and miserable because they are listening to their thoughts instead of challenging them—not every thought you have is right, some are strongholds that need to be cast down.
