Princess Ileana of Romania's wedding day, 1931. Now that you know who snake-eyes Queen Lisabeta is, you'll no doubt recognise her on the left. (R) is Ileana's middle sis, Queen Marie of Yugoslavia. Their mother, Queen Marie of Romania, is hanging unto Ileana for dear life.
I was told Compact Discs could play for 1,000 years! But the moment you breathed on one it was inoperable.
I’ve lived through 50 years of civilization changing technological blah, blah, blah. At the end of the day, smart, thoughtful human beings make the world run. Just like always.
Possibly her most famous lover, Prince Barbu Stirbey. Alleged father of Princess Ileana, and almost certain father of her youngest child, Prince Mircea. The body language says it all.
Queen Lisabeta’s mother! No scary serial killer eyes here.
Marie (Romanian: Maria; born Princess Marie Alexandra Victoria of Edinburgh; 29 October 1875 – 18 July 1938) was the last Queen of Romania from 10 October 1914 to 20 July 1927 as the wife of King Ferdinand I. AlmanachdeGotha.org

I leave you with this image. All you need to see Prince Harry in Prince Philip, is the right angle where he has a broader face.
I’m also very very glad OF didn’t exist back then. It means I don’t have to view my fellow GenX females that way.
The only reason I would excuse women of showing off their bods in sexy pics, is that one day, you can look back at the smokeshow you used to be. I have several photos of myself in a bikini, which I actually take out sometimes and smile.
My great grandfather was a teamsters boss in Philly. In the winter, when the garbage men came, Pop would invite them into the kitchen and give them each a small tumbler of Jameson. This seemed completely normal to 9 year old me. Maybe it is.
The Restorer of the World Aurelian was an Emperor who only ruled 5 years but managed to put back together a fractured Roman world in that time. He faced entrenched rebels in East and West, but in the end paraded his enemies Zenobia and Tetricus through the streets of Rome 🧵🧵
What is the Tea app? Is it where I can order bulk Scottish Breakfast?
That looks great. Too bad Willie and Nikki didn’t have the wherewithal to stop it. They had the requisite authority, neither wanted the war, but they just didn’t exercise enough control. It would have taken great statesmanship, to be sure, but they could have done it.
“Conservative” parties everywhere will forever be a joke until they stop waging generational warfare on the young in favour of Boomers. If you are fighting to make sure young people pay 50% taxes to pay pensions for Boomers with $3 million homes, you aren’t conservative, you…
An elite Chinese cyberspy group hacked at least one state’s National Guard network for nearly a year, the Department of Defense finds. The report was provided through the national security transparency nonprofit Property of the People. nbcnews.com/tech/security/…
The St. Louis to Chicago Amtrak is about 5 hours. Not bad. I've done it many times. But, if you have to go to the east coast, there is like a 12-hour layover in Chicago, making a trip to DC 23 hours and 25 hours to NYC. Have done both multiple times.
“choosing amtrak” like i had a choice in this lawless wasteland where a train from chicago to st. louis takes longer than a medieval pilgrimage
This has to be the most interesting corner in modern Philly. Where Malcolm’s parents attended church for a while and where an R&B legend helped establish a mosque.
