Governor Ned Lamont
@GovNedLamont
89th Governor of Connecticut.
In a time of uncertainty, Connecticut is stepping up. Over the next three years, our state’s 17 community health centers will receive an $80M increase so they can continue providing the primary care, dental care and behavioral health care that so many in our state rely on.
They’re called “Duolas (DO-Luh)” and they are caring for newborns and their mothers across Connecticut! Today, I signed 2️⃣ bills addressing maternal healthcare: ✅ More access to birth centers ✅ Doula support before, during & after birth ✅ Better mental health care for mom

Join us for a road trip to Norwalk! Our team visited the ongoing construction at the Walk Bridge to learn about how this project will make a significant difference for the city. Learn more: ow.ly/GGWl50Wtz1B #CTOnTheMove #infrastructure

This Week in Connecticut: It’s about safety, opportunity, and making life a little easier. We broke ground on a new train station in Naugatuck, expanded care at local health centers, invested in housing, and took steps to protect kids. Proud of the work—enjoy the weekend!
Proud to join the kids at The Carver in Norwalk to sign SB 1542 — limiting handcuffs on kids under 14 and strengthening our commitment to youth development. A big step toward safer, more supportive communities.
.@GovNedLamont Signs Law Preserving Fluoride Standards in Connecticut Drinking Water To put it simply, there’s no evidence that fluoride in public waterways in the United States does anything other than prevent cavities and improve oral health.
#CTDOT, the @MTA, and @govnedlamont broke ground on the new #Naugatuck #Railroad Station! The station will include a 350-foot-long high-level platform, ADA-compliant access, and much more. Thank you to our state and federal partners for making this happen: portal.ct.gov/dot/ctdot-pres…
📈 Connecticut added 6,300 jobs in June, pushing employment to its highest level in 16 years. ✅ Unemployment rate: 3.8% (below the national 4.1%)
Today we are breaking ground on the new train station we’re creating in Naugatuck. Located downtown, the station will create new opportunities for businesses, housing, and walkable neighborhoods. It’s all part of our plan to modernize the entire Waterbury Branch Line.

Celebrated the transformation of the Reid & Hughes building in Norwich — once vacant, now full of promise. Through the Community Investment Fund, we’re investing in projects like this to create more affordable, vibrant communities where families can live, work, and thrive.
Today I joined Governors from across the nation in writing to @EDSecMcMahon and @RussVought47 and urging that federal education funding already appropriated for 2025 be distributed as promised. Our schools depend on this funding for student success. We cannot let them down.

Let’s settle this. Is a hot dog… a sandwich? 🌭🧐 #NationalHotDogDay
This transit-oriented development project will create 120 units of housing near the new train station in Windsor Locks. I'm glad that we could get the town the funding needed to clean up and remediate this site so that construction can begin.
A state-funded brownfield remediation grant is being used to revitalize Windsor Locks' downtown area to make room for a mixed use, transit-oriented development near the train station. ctpublic.org/news/2025-07-1…

Proud to congratulate @HartfordHealthC! The only health system in the U.S. to receive the 2025 AHA Quest for Quality Prize, known as the “Stanley Cup” of health care. A national model for quality, safety, and equity, right here in Connecticut. 🏆 courant.com/2025/07/15/ct-…
I am saddened to learn the news on the passing of Fairfield First Selectman Bill Gerber. Bill was passionate about serving his community and always dedicated to giving back, whether it was through public service or philanthropy. My heart goes out to the Gerber family.
