Governor Tony Evers
@GovEvers
Husband to Kathy, lifelong educator, Euchre and bobblehead enthusiast, and 46th Governor of the State of Wisconsin.
I’m Tony Evers, and I will always try to do the right thing for our state. Wisconsinites want fair maps, and Wisconsinites deserve fair maps. So, today, Wisconsinites, I enacted fair maps for the great state of Wisconsin.
I made a promise to always work to do the right thing for Wisconsin, and I believe working together to find common ground so we can pass a bipartisan budget that reflects the will of the people of this state is part of keeping that promise. wpr.org/news/evers-tou…
Last week, I visited the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary State Conventions. We make a promise to our veterans to serve and support them just as they have served and supported us. I'll never stop fighting for Wisconsin's veterans and their families.

Well 15 in Madison had to be shut down years ago due to PFAS contamination, but thanks to the hard work of many and the help of a Safe Drinking Water Loan, we're thrilled to celebrate that Well 15 will be back online this summer with clean, safe water.

I will fight every effort by President Trump and his administration to sell out our kids and schools and mess with their futures. That's a promise. apnews.com/article/trump-…
Trump came in to office and immediately slashed USDA contracts that paid farmers to grow food for food banks. Then he started a trade war that’s jacking up grocery prices. And then he had Congress gut SNAP. Trump’s America leaves people hungrier, sicker and poorer.
Inflation rose last month to its highest level since February as Trump's tariffs are pushing up the cost of a range of goods. apnews.com/article/inflat…
This week, we celebrated the completion of the Beloit Riverwalk expansion project. I'm proud we could be a partner in this project that will benefit the entire Beloit community, from bikers and pedestrians visiting local businesses to building Beloit's flood resilience.

From dairy to ginseng, President Trump's tariff taxes and trade wars are hurting Wisconsin's farmers. urbanmilwaukee.com/2025/06/30/bac…
There is no level of lead that is safe. Period. I'm glad I could sign a bill to help ensure that folks in Superior have the resources they need to get lead out of their water for good. superiortelegram.com/news/local/gov…
Republicans' vote to cut popular programs like Medicaid will have a devastating impact on working families, kids, and seniors across our state—all so Republicans could pay for tax breaks for wealthy millionaires and billionaires.

I was glad to join folks in Wausau to celebrate the replacement of their 1,000th lead service line. That's a big deal, folks! We must keep working to get lead out of our homes, schools, communities, and state for good.

As a result of the Legislature’s decision to reject the investments that I proposed, there will now be fewer options for homeless veterans. When the Legislature comes back to work this fall, providing more support for our veterans must be a top priority. weau.com/2025/07/14/gov…
While big corporations celebrate their big tax breaks from Trump’s budget bill, Americans will see rural hospitals close, grandparents on Medicaid lose health care coverage, and hungry kids denied food assistance.
Appleton was voted the best-tasting tap water in Wisconsin, so I had to see what all the fuss was about! We're working to make sure every Wisconsin kid, family, and community has the clean, safe (and great-tasting!) water they deserve.

The results are in, and the 2025 NFL Draft in Titletown was a booming success! Green Bay blew expectations out of the water, and I want to congratulate the many local leaders, the @packers, @DiscoverGrnBay, @TravelWI, and so many others who made it all happen.
The Green Bay draft generated record numbers in spending and viewership. wtmj.com/news/2025/07/1…
Republicans' vote to cut programs like Medicaid will force 270,000 Wisconsinites off of their healthcare coverage and make it harder for families to access basic necessities like food—all to pay for tax breaks for the wealthy. This is bad news for the people of Wisconsin.
I was glad to help celebrate the opening of the new Noble Community Clinic in Stevens Point. Strengthening our healthcare system, especially in our rural communities, is critical to ensuring every Wisconsinite has access to the healthcare they need when and where they need it.

So much for lowering prices on Day One. With budgets already stretched thin, Wisconsin households can't afford President Trump’s reckless tariff taxes and trade wars. Full stop.

Every pothole filled, road improved, and bridge reconstructed makes Wisconsinites’ lives a little better and a whole lot safer. I’m glad our bipartisan budget invests $150 million to continue fixing rural roads and bridges across our state!

After a tornado wiped out the Town of Silver Cliff's fire and EMS station, my administration was proud to provide critical funds to support their efforts to rebuild. It was great to see this brand-new building that's going to help keep folks and families in rural Wisconsin safe.

President Trump is threatening to raise the average tariff rate to the highest rate in over a century. His reckless trade wars and tariff taxes are only going to make costs keep going up and hurt household budgets that are already stretched too thin. nytimes.com/2025/07/14/us/…
