Hale End is a cheat code. The emergence of a certified world class player like Saka is crazy enough, but to back him up with Lewis Skelly and Nwaneri in quick succession is mental. To then roll out another generational talent like Max Dowman straight after is fucking ludicrous.
Max Dowman threw his arms up when Odegaard - the club captain - didn’t play him through on goal. This kid is reminiscent of Wayne Rooney at Everton. He already knew he was the most talented player in the team by the time he was 16, and he would let his senior teammates know it.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but this is almost Lionel Messi levels of natural talent.
It’s important not to rush such a young player into the team, but Max Dowman is more than ready to make an impact in top level games. What a talent.
Merino has the rare ability to just pass the ball into the bottom corner. He doesn’t strike it with any real power, it’s just pure technique/accuracy. It’s a lot harder than it looks and not many players have it. Smith Rowe was great at it. Eze is currently one of the best at it.
Zubimendi has played a few clever reverse passes from deep, or little flicks around a corner, and the intended receiver wasn’t on the same wavelength. Our players are going to have to learn to expect the unexpected with him. His passes can come from anywhere, any angle, any time.
Forget about Gyokeres and sign that Newcastle defender up as our centre forward. Some finish.

If we manage to get upwards of £20m for Gabriel Jesus we should grab it with both hands. I love him when he’s fit, but he’s never consistently available. I wasn’t expecting us to be able to sell him this summer, but selling him and Trossard would fund a move for Eze. No brainer.
I thought he looked good watching it live, but I’ve just watched a video of every Zubimendi touch against Milan and I can’t tell you how much he’s going to improve us. Forward passes, with pace and purpose, almost every time he received it. Multiple chances created. Pure quality.
I reckon we’re gonna announce Mosquera today, Gyokeres in the next few days, then try and get Eze late in the window if we can find a new club for Trossard.

Max Dowman is so funny. 15 years old, coming on to play his first game against one of the biggest, most successful clubs in sporting history, and just treats it like he’s having a kickabout with his pals. An actual child, jinking left and right against top level footballers.
Everyone is praising Kiwior for the cross and rightfully so, but it was brilliant footwork from Trossard and the overlap from Lewis-Skelly that left him in acres of space to play it. Movements like that are straight from the training ground. Lovely team goal.
