On the practical reality of teaching mathematics- Math itself is simple but the mental action that allow us to make sense of it are subtle and counterintuitive. These actions are invisible. We can’t simply imitate what others do.

I do not suggest to learn analysis from either of these books. There are better texts in terms of lucidity of exposition and depth of contents than either of these two text.
Still Spivak + Rudin has an eternal place in my heart though
It is not rigorous but it is better than many of the text for introducing the idea of analysis through gaps in the calculus. Medha is self-learning this book along with her ongoing directed readings of Analysis by the Terry Tao and other by the Australian mathematical Society.
For academics, such an article is pure luxury, and when it carries a rich history of the finest craftsmanship [Sheaffer] in this niche, it is even more luxurious.
