A few months went by and I received a large envelope addressed to me with ‘DO NOT BEND’ stamped on it. It was from Mr. Downes. Inside, I found not my artwork of Chief and Cortana, but a signed photo of Mr. Downes and a note where he answered all my questions! He kept my art! 🥹💖
When I was 15-16 I wrote a long fan letter to Steve Downes gushing my heart out about my love for his work and Halo. At the end of the letter, I asked him questions but I told him he didn’t have to answer. I also included my art and asked him to please sign and return it to me.
