We are devastated to hear the Government's Universal Credit Bill has gone through. This will halve the UC health element for thousands of Disabled people, taking away £3,000 a year when they already cannot afford essentials. Disabled lives are more than numbers on a spreadsheet.
Ahead of Wednesday's vote, we'll continue our campaigning to get the Government to #BinUCBill, which would cut the Universal Credit health element in half, from £416 to just over £200. Disabled peoples' lives are not a cost-cutting exercise!
Following the launch of our report 'The Impact of Welfare Cuts on Disabled People and Access to Physical Activity', we were in Parliament yesterday speaking to MPs about the importance of resisting these benefit cuts. 📊Read our full report here: getyourselfactive.org/impact-of-welf…

We reject the Government's 'concession' that would create a two-tier disability benefits system. It is not a concession to have a system where future generations of Disabled people receive less support than Disabled people today. The only concession we accept: kill the bill!
🚨 Joint statement: Unacceptable “concessions” on the disability cuts MUST be rejected. It is not a concession for future generations to receive even less support than Disabled people today. Read it in full on our website👇 disabilityrightsuk.org/news/unaccepta…
Great to see @SkyNews coverage of our poll conducted that shows only 27% of the British public support the Government's benefit cuts. This is a reckless plan that marginalises Disabled further with negligible public support - it's time to kill the bill! news.sky.com/story/politics…
