Men will literally [create a four-part STUNTNUTS movie series] instead of [awarding stunt performers with an Oscars category]
EXCLUSIVE: Chris Hemsworth and Sam Rockwell are “helping out” their stunt-world buddies in the first of an initial four-part movie series called ‘Stuntnuts’ – yes, it’s a palindrome- which are being made under Matthew Vaughn’s Marv Films banner deadline.com/2024/09/chris-…
Hey everyone! Hugely grateful for the peers I’ve made on here & that anyone was interested in my thoughts. Can’t believe I somehow got over 10k followers when there are way more deserving accounts. Anyway, if I am more active, it’s going to be on Bluesky: bsky.app/profile/genref…
UK/US: Our latest Kinji Fukaksaku yakuza classic is the director’s swansong to the genre and one of his very finest films.
this is what cinematographer Bill Pope had to say about shooting Darkman in the oral history of the film. I love Sam Raimi lmao
#Shocktober Death Car on the Freeway (1979) - Needham and Baxley bring their vehicular mayhem to this CBS movie about a freeway killer who hates female drivers. Wildest part: it’s 100% a giallo - the unseen killer even dons black driving gloves when he goes for the kill.
#Shocktober Castle of Otranto (1977) - Svankmajer tackles the classic (and very fun and very weird) gothic novel with a kooky meta-narrative about how the story must truly be based on a Czech location. With a perfect finale.
Would never expect the DiscussingFilm admins to be familiar with junky Taiwanese actioner Red Pirate (1997) but folks interested in a Ke Huy Quan “leading role in an action film” predating this project by decades should check it out
First look at ‘LOVE HURTS’, Ke Huy Quan’s first leading role in an action film. In theaters on February 7, 2025. (Source: ew.com/ke-huy-quan-lo…)
Rock-solid additions to the collection from recent hauls & sales

Pretty cool little knife fight scene from the Disney + Korean action series "A Shop for Killers" (2024) 🔪👀😮🔥
WTF, how’d I miss that the Den of Thieves 2 trailer was released a whole week ago?
With Greg Rementer , our legendary 2nd unit director / action maestro. Guy’s a machine. #Nobody2
Not unlike a revenant rising on All Hallow’s Eve, if there’s one thing that’ll get me energized is a new Timo bloodbath next month. Oh, and another 31 Days of Horror! My watchlist of entirely new-to-me films for 2024: boxd.it/nSmeq

Only took me 23 years to finally watch the deliciously ridiculous DTV actioner SHADOW FURY (Makoto Yokoyama, 2001), and man... some of these wire pulls are insane. How many backs did they break on that set? Masakatsu Funaki sure had the moves.
HOLY SHIT ! SONOMURA'S NEW DIRECTORIAL FEATURE FILM "GHOST KILLER" LOOKS FUCKING AWESOME ! HOLY SHIT ! 👻🔥🔪👊Acquired already by Well Go USA, this is gonna be a wild one ! @VyceVictus @pod_hard @AndrewMGorham @BattyWanderer @TheLybrarian @GenreFilmAddict @HeadExposure
Interesting interview with Michael Mann on the 20th anniversary of Collateral. Learnt that he’s (unsurprisingly) a big Lee Marvin fan & that Vincent’s whole look is based on Marvin in the superb modernist noir Point Blank. One for you @OneBlakeMinute pca.st/episode/261a16…
Yooo, Saulnier doing his take on First Blood?! I’m there day one
The first trailer for Jeremy Saulnier’s ‘REBEL RIDGE’ has been released. Releasing September 6 on Netflix.
Just discovered acrobatic tap dancer Miriam LaVelle, and my jaw is on the floor. Front flips and rotational handstands in high heels. Bring back musicals with this energy please. 😭 Somehow she only made a handful of films... This is from SEVEN DAYS ASHORE (John H. Auer, 1944).
Just to prep you for The Shadow Strays ; There are almost twice more action set pieces in this film compared to The Night Comes for Us. Dunno how that happens.
I appreciate the check-in! Been busy with IRL stuff and hobbies, active more on some other social medias & Discords; haven’t watched as many movies lately (although did see Quiet Place, KILL, and Longlegs; Twisters IMAX on Sat!) Added some good stuff to my collection recently!
Homie Check-in: Yo @GenreFilmAddict you alive brotha ? haven't heard from ya in a while, hope you're good 👀🙏🤗
🔥The Head Hunter’s Jordan Downey is doing a segment here! Glad to see him in the genre space again🔥

Jesus Christ.
Just found out a stunt man actually ran on gators for the James Bond scene--
