26 July 1869 | An Austrian Jewish woman, Gisela Danziger, was born. She was deported to #Auschwitz from #Theresienstadt Ghetto on 16 May 1944. Registered in the Theresienstadt family camp in Birkenau. She did not survive.

26 July 1882 | German Jew, Siegfired Benda, was born in Buk (then in Prussia, today in Poland). He emigrated to Belgium. He was deported to #Auschwitz from Kazerne Dossin in Mechelen on 22 October 1942. He was murdered in a gas chamber after arrival selection.

27 July 1908 | Ivan Ignatyev was born. A Soviet army soldier. In #Auschwitz from October 1941. No. R-1095 (Soviet prisoner of war) He perished in the camp on 30 October 1941.

27 July 1932 | A Yugoslavian Jewish girl, Vera Frisch, was born in Osijek. In 1944 she was deported to #Auschwitz and murdered in a gas chamber.

27 July 1896 | Czech Jew, Leo Fantl, was born in Plzeň. He was deported to #Auschwitz from #Theresienstadt ghetto on 6 September 1943 and placed in a special family camp at #Auschwitz II-Birkenau for Jews from this ghetto. He did not survive.

27 July 1911 | A Pole, Alfons Prus, was born in Białystok. A doctor. In #Auschwitz from 30 July 1941. No. 19544 He was released from the camp on 19 March 1942.

27 July 1941 | A Dutch Jewish boy, Louis Van De Kar, was born in Amsterdam. In October 1942 he was deported to #Auschwitz. He was murdered in a gas chamber together with his sister Anna and Benvenida, and his mother Flora. The father - Daniel - survived the war.

27 July 1944 | An evacuation transport of 1,700 men from the slave labor camp for Jews in Pustków near Dębica arrived at #Auschwitz. 463 were registered in the camp (after quarantine they were moved to Auschwitz III). The remaining 1,237 people were murdered in gas chambers.
