This lovely 8 year old chap is a pom x yorkie and was surrendered today after his owner had contacted us asking for our help. Dino arrived and happily around our garden ,had lots of belly rubs ,followed by a light lunch before popping up on the sofa in his room.

Young whippet boy Deeks has joined our Heathlawn family after waiting a few weeks in the County Pound for a kennel space. A gorgeous boy who is full of fun and joy at being able to run freely around our fields this morning. Lovely natured, confident and very handsome.

10 month old Cheesecake, now Pika, needs life saving heart surgery. Read her story here:- gspca.ie/blogs/news/che…

This springer Girl strayed into the garden. Just a year old she as already experienced neglect, She is scared and untrusting but her heart tells her to let go of her fear and to trust us and that's exactly what she has started to do. Rescue Dogs, forgiving and moving forward.

We're looking for a foster home for this 8/10 week old pup found on the road outside Ballinasloe by kind people who took him home. He needs a foster home where there is someone at home all day due to his very young age. A fully secure garden is required. gspca.ie

Freddie and Chicka are beginning to thrive & taking 10ml+ at every feed, their eyes are open. This small and fragile, nothing is guaranteed. We sadly lost the smallest baby, Bonnie, after only two days. Foxy is continuing to fight and so are we. Every feed is a moment of hope.

Elderpaw, adopted by Freddie and Simon, wasted no time getting to know his new home and feline family, who welcomed him like an old friend! To see him so comfortable & so relaxed reminds us why we do this day in, day out! Thank you to also to Sherlie, Elderpaws foster mum.

If you've been waiting for that perfect best friend/side kick/loyal companion then look no more !!! Nearly 8 year old yorkie x pom boy Dino is all the above and more. Since arriving over a week ago, Dino has stolen everyone's hearts. gspca.ie/pages/pet/dino

With the city full of tourists one kind family from America got to witnessed the reality of the lives of cats in Galway as outside their rental they found a tiny kitten, riddled with flu and desperate to be saved. #ifyoufeeddontletthembreed #catflu #volunteersmakeadifference #TNR

Our three little musketeers have been neutered. As with all our kittens, we take great care to match them with homes that suit their individual needs and personalities. Adopt a pair (or a trio) and give them the best start possible! #2IsBetterThan1 #SingleKittensEqualSadKittens

She is not the most bravest of souls in new situations so we feel Palm would benefit greatly from another similar sized gentle, playful dog. There is such an amazing character buried inside Palm just waiting to blossom. gspca.ie/pages/pet/palm

Driven to the depths of a bog, thrown out & left to die, emaciated &ravaged by painful mange. This is the fifth rescue this week & it's only Wednesday. Please watch Quinlans video & remember he's better than the human who did this. youtube.com/shorts/yJEpn8Z… gspca.ie/blogs/news/qui…

Nothing has changed. As a country we are still a complete & utter disgrace when it comes to Animal Welfare. There are weekly horror stories in every county of cruelty &neglect & none of our "improved animal welfare laws" being implemented & no one is accountable for Arcadia!

Here's a little morning cuteness. #GalwaySPCA #AdoptDontShop #IfYouFeedDontLetThemBreed

A lovely couple found two filthy, bedraggled terrified Retrievers & it took them an hour to get them to safety. Harris and Williams are settling in slowly, making friends, learning to walk on leads and about the real world thanks to the patience and dedication of our team.

Whilst Mr. T. may be in double digits and may have a heart murmur, he is surprisingly fit and healthy and enjoys a walk and a spot of gardening. He is sweet, good natured and loving and we know that he still has lots of joy and love to bring to a home. gspca.ie/pages/pet/mr-t…

Moby arrived with horrific injuries & pre-op went into foster with Sarah & post-op with Tina. MADRA kindly offered a space to Moby on their next transport run to Germany to a group they have worked with for many years with collies. Look at him now! #workingtogethermakesusbetter

Billy is a quiet, thoughtful girl. She’ll keep you company from a comfortable spot nearby. She prefers sitting next to you rather than on your lap but with patience and love we believe she'll form a deep, loyal bond with her special someone. gspca.ie/pages/pet/billy #GalwaySPCA

No one puts themselves on a pedestal quite like a Ginger kitten. Unless, of course, you are dethroned by another ginger kitten.
