The rescissions represent roughly 0.1% of annual federal spending, offering negligible fiscal savings while risking significant harm to global health, development, U.S. foreign policy objectives, and Congress’ Constitutional authority to appropriate funds.

Foreign aids rescissions will likely force the closure of thousands of health programs, clinics & vaccination campaigns, disproportionately affecting LMICs & increasing global health inequities. Cutting these funds would put millions of lives at risk.

These cuts target critical areas such as #HIVAIDS , Infectious disease control , #MNCH , & #FamilyPlanning. Reducing funding risks increased outbreaks of diseases, the long-term costs of preventable pandemics far outweigh the short-term savings from these cuts.

The rescissions package would be a significant rollback of bipartisan investments & partnerships that have defined America’s leadership on the global stage, threatening the nation’s reputation as a principled and effective leader in global health!

Cutting $900m from global health programs, including $400 million from PEPFAR, directly undermines U.S. leadership in international health and security efforts, puts lives at risk, and damages America’s standing, influence, and security interests in an interconnected world.
