Yeah I can see that and I hope that doesn't happen But i've also seen some people criticize this on a story level. I think storywise this makes perfect sense General relevancy wise yeah, I don't want Amy to get shoved aside
But people's concern is more that in places where they had started giving Amy the spotlight for, Shadow will coincidentally "happen to be be there" instead of her a lot more going forward.
Tbf I don't think the discourse is that he's literally in universe replacing Amy, rather that from a marketing standpoint he's taking her spot. Like Shadow will never be "the 4th slot of Sonic's team of buddies", his presence will always be "he happened to just be there".
I like the idea of him just skating through Green Hill only to look to the side and seeing Team Sonic and going “FUCK!”
