Friends, we need some help to get Congressman Rulli on board with our cause. It would be great if you have a minute to call and ask him to help independent contractors by supporting the Modern Worker Empowerment Act. The more calls, the better. (202) 225-5705 Thank you!

Sing it, @thekimkavin ! Big labor interests have been exploiting the truly exploited as a pretext for outlawing the independent contractor model altogether! Thank goodness some people in power are seeing it, thanks to you!
6 years of unrelenting government attacks on our freedom to be our own bosses, condensed into a 5-minute speech and these 2 key sentences: "This is not targeting employee misclassification. This is weaponizing regulatory language to attack independent contractors."
Watch this, @RepMichaelRulli! See why it’s imperative for you to vote YES on the Modern Worker Empowerment Act. Need more info? Talk to us — the ICs who would be put out of business if ABC test-based bills like the PRO Act are passed. Also ask @KevinKileyCA. #FightForFreelancers

“It was a national opportunity to show how New Jersey is taking its regulatory efforts way too far to reduce independent contractor work in the Garden State. And Fight for Freelancers’ co-founder … Kim Kavin took full advantage of it.” njbia.org/taking-the-nj-…
I was shocked at yesterday's U.S. Senate HELP Committee hearing when Democrat @SenTimKaine said independent contractors have a point. Please, Senator, remove yourself as a PRO Act co-sponsor until the California ABC Test language is removed. That would help us. Thank you.
This is the video they played live on @nj1015 this morning. I'm hearing there was so much audience outrage about NJDOL trying to hurt independent contractors that the station will be talking about the topic again tomorrow a.m. BRING THE NOISE 📢📢📢 youtu.be/eVKtpSU5bkg?si…
Thank you @SenatorTimScott for standing up to protect independent contractors all across the country 👏👏👏

A brave voice speaking out against freelance busting. Kim speaks for so many of us: freelancers, gig workers, independent contractors, and small businesses. A resounding NO to PROAct-type legislation that would force freelancers to become W-2 workers and join unions!…
NJDOL did not appear to livestream today's public hearing, so we had a guy capturing video--to be sure the world can yet again see the huge opposition to freelance busting. Stay tuned for that. For now, here is my 4-minute testimony. I had a tabletop tripod ready with my phone.
More powerful testimony from today's public hearing in New Jersey, from freelancer Sharon Waters. Again: We have real video coming soon with good-quality sound. I shot this from the front row of the gallery with my phone. Turn up your volume for now.

“This proposal can’t be fixed with carve-outs or classifications. When the test forcibly reclassifies licensed, regulated, small-business-owning professionals who cherish their independence, it demonstrates that the framework itself is broken.” wealthmanagement.com/regulation-com…
