It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses. DMs are open #electiontwitter #twill
Thanks to Pope Leo, Samantha Steele, and Dasani Water for making this possible.

Cook County Commissioner Bridget Degnen won’t seek reelection in 2026. She's backing her former aide Cat Sharp, who is now Ald. Andre Vasquez’s chief of staff, to succeed her. Degnen joins Kevin Morrison, Anthony Quezada & Donna Miller in leaving the Board.

I love Italy, but waiters absolutely do ignore you for 2 hours while they take regular smoke breaks. Having dinner is an all night affair.
Hot take: Europe is a bunch of third-world countries with better branding. No A/C. No dryers. Ice is a luxury. You’ll sweat through dinner while the waiter ignores you for 2 hours. Say what you want about America, but at least eating out doesn’t feel like hot yoga with bread.
Samantha Steele is ruining the good name of former ESPN broadcaster Samantha Ponder (whose maiden name is Steele).

The Cook County Democratic Party officially dumped Board of Review Commissioner Samantha Steele from their party slate in favor of challenger Liz Nicholson. I'm hearing nobody nominated Samantha and that she got zero votes.

Just In: Cook County Democratic Party dumps Assessor Fritz Kaegi and endorses Lyons Township Assessor Pat Hynes for its party slate.

Just In: the Cook County Democratic Party is making NO ENDORSEMENT for US Senate. I think this is a blow to Juliana Stratton and the Governor's political team. Very good news for Raja.

The Cook County Democratic Party is slating State Representative Margaret Croke. Croke is a close ally of Governor JB Pritzker. Her district includes his Gold Coast house in Chicago. Croke won her first election with his political and financial backing.
Three candidates will speak at Friday’s Cook County Democratic slating to seek the party’s endorsement for Comptroller, as Susana Mendoza won’t seek reelection: Lake Co. Treasurer Holly Kim, Sen. Karina Villa (West Chicago), and Rep. Margaret Croke (Lincoln Park).
Assessor Fritz Kaegi didn't have the votes for an endorsement from the Cook County Democratic slating committee today, but he could still get endorsed when the full body votes tomorrow. Burress is gaining support among Black committeemen. Hynes and Pointer have support too.

Susana Mendoza, standing with her husband David says she is not running for reelection as Illinois Comptroller. Leaves her next political move open amidst speculation she’s eying another run for Mayor in 2027 @ABC7Chicago
