A5: Friendly, flexible and thorough! With the emphasis on friendly ;)
5. How would you describe your mentoring style? #WriteMentor
A4 It feels right to give back to the writing community and help someone on their journey. I hope we both gain an enduring friendship, but also that my mentee gains confidence— and a boost— to take their nexts steps.
4. Why did you want to mentor another writer? What do you hope you/they gain? #WriteMentor
A3: Ava and the Acorn by Lu Fraser and Paddy Donnelly; Trick or Treat? by Catherine Emmett and Laura Brenlla; Jenny Peckles Lays Eggs with Speckles by Rachel Emily and Paul Delaney 📚
3. What are some of your favourite recent books? #WriteMentor
A1: Someone passionate, accomplished — and a bit stuck!I want to feel I can add value to your texts! I love lyrical, funny, poignant, anarchic… I have a wide range in tastes— as long as a story makes me FEEL something, so that I can connect with it and with the author! 📚
Here's the 1st question of the night: 1. What are you looking for in a mentee? #WriteMentor
A2: Patience, experience, PB know-how. I'm strong on scansion and rhyme, story heart and logic. I love adding shine to stories so they are submission-ready.
2. What strengths do you have as a mentor that will benefit a potential mentee? #WriteMentor
