This three part series is a terrific watch and reminiscent of the authentic, gritty crime shows that the UK used to produce in decades past. The cast is top-notch as well and the first segment alone features Andrew Garfield, Sean Bean, Rebecca Hall, Peter Mullan and Sean Harris.

I'm not sure why, but there is something inherently more frightening about a psychopath who is small in stature.

"Of course I've seen all of Andrzej 呕u艂awski's films! Sadao Yamanaka? Yeah, his too, obviously. If you don't believe me, I just need a few minutes to update my Letterboxd account and I can prove it if you want?!"
Kristen Stewart's body double in the Twilight movies was a poor choice. Not only did she look nothing like her, but she smiled as well.

As director, if Michael B. Jordan is going to boink his lead actress then he should at least pretend to be interested in her afterwards until the filming has wrapped. Unprofessional.

Some British gangster movies that I think are criminally underseen

This guy in The Peacemaker went out like a proper villain.
If you spliced Rupert Friend, Vanilla Ice and a gay hairdresser together, I imagine that the end result would look something like Robert Patrick in Double Dragon.

I love Haggis but it gives me terrible wind.

I heard in passing that there was a full frontal scene in the movie Eden and I was curious as to whether it would be Vanessa Kirby, Ana de Armas or Sydney Sweeney. Turns out that it's Jude Law, haha. The guy just casually stands there with his todger out for 2 minutes.

Wealthy white people in modern film: "Why don't you join me at my overly exuberant property this weekend?" Black person: "Sure, sounds good" WWP: "Excellent. I promise that it will be a night to die for" BP: "Wait, why did you twirl your moustache when you said that?"

Publicity stunts were a lot easier to pull off back in the day. Multiple French media outlets led with the story that JCVD and Dolph Lundgren had an altercation at Cannes, seemingly oblivious to the fact that Universal Soldier was due to be released the following month.
These are both outstanding movies, but I imagine that it would've been an ominous double bill for a British person to watch in the 80s.

It's crazy to think that there are people in the world with 拢11m to spare who think to themselves 'Will I give this exorbitant amount of money that I don't need to various children's charities or use it to buy an old wooden sled? Fuck the hungry kids, I'm getting the sled'

Uwe Boll being as tactful and eloquent as ever on social media again this week.

Poor woman. If she gets married again that's just tempting fate, though, because her first husband tried to kill her as well!
