Thx for sharing @HistorySAZAR. Pic was taken at this dance competition in the early 70s at the historic #BantuMensSocialCenter next to #DorkayHouse. Google these historic places. Had a dance academy aimed at keeping youth out of the streets away from the brutality of #apartheid.

Serve, serve, serve! It takes 1 person to make a difference. Listen to the conductor of #DetroitYouthChoir talk about how he used his passion of music to keep youth out of the dangerous streets of Detroit. #TerryCrews, host of AGT who grew up in same streets, was visibly moved.
Serve, serve, serve. Because in the end, it will not be the politicians or the wealthy who save our society. It will be the people.
Thank you @Matome_Kay. What a time we had as we rang in a new democracy. Hope you learned a lot from the number of great minds we brought on and interviewed on the #FeliciaShow. Hope you also enjoyed the lighter moments when we had South Africa singing and dancing.

I'm homesick!😪 I don't care where you are in the world, the minute you hear #Shosholoza, you become homesick. Miss you @ChoirAfrica in the ATL! @ralfschmitt100 Let's make it happen! We miss that harmony that is so authentically South African. There is no place like #Mzansi!
Happy 75th Anniversary @SABCNews! Thank you for the opportunity to give black and white South Africans an opportunity to talk with each other on the #FeliciaShow post apartheid. As our slogan aptly said, "We got SA talking!" Wishing you another 75 years of broadcasting #SABC!

Happy heavenly birthday Tata Mandela! One of my humbling honors was respnding to your clarion call to #SAfricans living abroad to come back home to serve. We gave black & white, young & older South Africans a voice on #FeliciaShow. Thx for always gracing us with your presence.

Raised with this #HouseWivesLeague slogan during apartheid: "When you rise, raise others." Sad how greed has consumed society today. "Wealth is the means & people are the ends. All our riches will avail us little if we do not use them to expand the opportunities of our people."
Wealth is what 'they' cannot take away from you. Growing up under #apartheid in #SouthAfrica, I learned to fight for dignity over wealth. I wanted to be somebody-- focusing on education & exposure. I wanted to impact lives of others & to make a difference. That's wealth for me.

You never truly own what you cannot walk away from. Cars, houses, titles—they belong to time. You are only their temporary steward.
Ke weekente! Do y'all like my hat? Thanks @lindiwesuttle & #Zani. Love it! Enjoying #preferment! Life is short. Sing & dance.💃🏾 My mantra: 'Don't sweat the small stuff.' Motto: 'Always endeavor to stand on the right side of history.' Advise: Apologize. Be the bigger person.
My posts are aimed at inspiring the little girl/boy growing up in the township like I did, to believe that, 'if you can dream it, you can achieve it.' Mine is not a story about attaining wealth, but about attaining my childhood dreams to be somebody. Keep ur focus on ur focus.
I wanted to be somebody & impact lives of others. Here with my fashion icon, mom #OlgaWilliams. I dreamed big growing up. Next frame with 3 women I revered: #MarinaMaponya, #EllenKhuzwayo, #SallyMotlana & #WinnieMandela. Last frame, #HelenSuzman. My grandmoms taught me #ubuntu.
'You can't be what you can't see.' Here are 3 women who shaped my upbringing from Sophiatown to Soweto. As a little girl, I wanted to sing & dress like #MiriamMakeba. I wanted to be a business woman like #MarinaMaponya. Also, wanted to be courageous like #WinnieMandela.

As the saying goes, "Hold the pen to your own story." My dreams/aspirations were shaped by my upbringing in Dube. The Maponya's were our neighbors and my role models. Here I am in the 70s doing what I urge young people to do. I always say, 'Get close to people you admire.'
Dube stand up!
Thanks for #AbigailKubeka!💃🏾 What a befitting grand entrance at your celebration of 68yrs in showbiz over the weekend queen of style & song. You looked regal: head up, shoulders back, lipstick on, stomach in, walk it diva!💃🏾 #Mzansi loves you! Thx @DM_PeaceMabe & Min @GaytonMcK!
Humbled to have been asked to pay tribute to one of my sheroes #AbigailKubeka last night. She was honored by the #DeptOfArtsAndCulture last night. Thanks to Min @GaytonMcK and @DM_PeaceMabe for their foresight. Thanks for 68yrs of gracing the stage & our screens Abigail! #Icon

What a journey! Chronicling my journey with hope it inspires 1 girl/boy growing up in township like I did, to dream big. '90s were about pursuing my purpose. Started 1st talkshow aimed at giving us a voice post apartheid. Started here. Also served at #SAA during tranformation
What a journey! The 80s, armed with the right credentials, was appointed to serve as an adjunct lecturer in Communications Dept at my alma mater. Proud moment for a girl from Soweto lecturing at a predominantly white univ in US. Also started a scholarship program for SA students.
