With the rising cost of living, sanitary pads, a basic need, are a financial burden. For many women, especially single mothers, schoolgirls, & those with disabilities, buying pads means giving up essentials like food or soap. Yet, periods don’t pause because the economy is tough.

Taxing period products is taxing women’s dignity. No woman should have to choose between food and a pad. Let’s have menstrual products affordable, accessible, and stigma free in Uganda, especially in the underserved communities. @FJS #MenstrualJusticeforAll #PeriodEquity

Pleased to have been part of the 8th Regional Youth Parliament hosted in Gulu where we discussed a number of things among which was the urgent need to address the gaps in the Transitional Justice Process by Passing the pending National Transitional Justice policy to law.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of engaging in the Northern Sub Regional #YouthParliamentUG in Gulu. It was amazing forum where we tackled critical challenges facing the youth in Northern Uganda and worked together to propose actionable solutions.

Today, in partnership with @FarajaAfricaFdn, we hosted the Northern Uganda Youth Parliament in Gulu. Over 70 young people from Lango, Acholi, and Karamoja sub-regions took part. One thing is clear—when given the space, young people show up and engage meaningfully.
