In the publication, Lost Gaels, Falls curfew victim, 62 year old Patrick Elliman (died 11/7/1970) is listed as the first GAA member killed in the decades long conflict. Patrick played for O’Connell’s GAA club and in goals for the Antrim hurling team. He was shot by Crown forces

The families held a very productive information session yesterday in the Kennedy Centre, raising awareness of the Falls Curfew and our plans for an independent panel of inquiry into the deaths of four innocent men at the hands of British forces in July 1970

In his youth, Patrick Elliman (died 11/7/1970) played for the O’Connells GAA club in west Belfast. For seven years he was in goals for the Antrim hurling team. Do you remember the club or the Antrim 1930s/40s team ? Any photos or memories would be helpful. Go raibh maith agaibh
