We updated this preprint (osf.io/preprints/psya…) with a new study investigating sources of this yes-no framing bias and amplified omission bias in LLM moral decision-making. Results suggest that they likely arise from fine-tuning for chatbot applications. @MaxMa1er @FalkLieder
New preprint w/ @MaxMa1er, Harry Coulson & @FalkLieder: Telling people their global income rank (RBN) increased charitable donations. Also explored RBN’s effect on perceived global income distribution + whether asking how much others should donate increased giving (IDT) 🧵…
New preprint w/ @MaxMa1er, @vanessachg_, Fiery Cushman, & @FalkLieder: Disentangling Model-Based and Model-Free Moral Learning doi.org/10.31234/osf.i… Excited to present this work at #CogSci2025!
This summer: A week of @JASPStats hybrid workshops: - Discovering Statistics using JASP - Bayesian Hypothesis Testing with JASP - Machine Learning with JASP - State-of-the-Art Meta-Analysis with JASP (see full details at jasp-stats.org/workshops/, ECs for students available)

New preprint with @MaxMa1er and @FalkLieder, titled "Large Language Models Amplify Human Biases in Moral Decision-Making." In this paper, LLMs and participants make decisions in realistic moral dilemmas. We found that LLMs exhibited stronger omission bias than participants.
There are many moral setbacks in the world: wars, violence, harmful policies. Yet, many of us still try to create change. Why? Now out in Cognitive Science, with @TaniaLombrozo and Sana Asifriyaz! doi.org/10.1111/cogs.7…
(1/5) Very excited to announce the publication of Bayesian Models of Cognition: Reverse Engineering the Mind. More than a decade in the making, it's a big (600+ pages) beautiful book covering both the basics and recent work: mitpress.mit.edu/9780262049412/…
