So @themaydan published my article on Thomas Bauer's 'Culture of Ambiguity' and I missed it! I first heard it mentioned in a talk by Sh Abdul Hakeem Murad. And whilst I loved it, there were more than a few issues with it. This is my piece to work out what that was exactly.

This book solves a puzzle, I’m sure many Bengalis have wondered and certainly my daughter has asked me; ‘where did Islam in Bangladesh comes from?’ This books goes some way to answer that question. Wonderfully illuminating.
Found this in my house; Richard M. Eaton’s ‘The Rise of Islam and the Bengal Frontier, 1204-1760’ He seeks to answer a puzzle; the Bengal is one of the world’s largest Muslim population; why and how did such large Muslim population emerge there? Time to dig in.
Unprecedented- four news agencies call out the Israelis for starving their journalists.
Joint statement on Gaza from @AFP, @AP, @BBCWorld and @Reuters
Read this account by a British surgeon of treating a woman in Gaza shot by a quadcopter while breastfeeding her child in a tent and then try to imagine the general mentality of the person piloting the drone who hunted her down and then pulled the trigger.
I’m witnessing the deliberate starvation of Gaza’s children – why is the world letting it happen? | Nick Maynard | The Guardian theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
hamas evilly kills former babies, while the heroic IDF targets only future adults

A friend of mine bought this 13 years ago, when it first came out. It’s been with her through moves across homes and even countries, now it’s found its way to me. This article makes me feel both sad and hopeful. Sad, because it was written with so much hope, yet he’s in prison…
One of my first wars.
muslimmatters.org/2025/07/19/his… 30 yrs ago the Balkans war and Bosnian genocide reached its crescendo in a horrific massacre at Srebrenica. Here is my history of yon Bosnian war for @MuslimMatters
Yes. Writing is not a second thing that happens after thinking. The act of writing is an act of thinking. Writing *is* thinking. Students, academics, and anyone else who outsources their writing to LLMs will find their screens full of words and their minds emptied of thought.
Absolute sick fucks. British surgeon sees trend of Israeli soldiers targeting a different body part on children each day.
British surgeon Nick Maynard: “These children are being targeted almost as if it’s a game… One day they’re all shot in the head, the next day in the neck, and another day in the testicles… There is a clear and deliberate pattern to the injuries.”
