To end the week on a golden note, Sudeep Adhikari, first-year PhD student @UFPlantbreeding with Dr. Geoffrey Meru @UFTropical won first-place in oral talks @FSHS_Hort 2025 meeting! His talk was titled 'Battling Whiteflies in Cucurbita Crops'. Congratulations, Sudeep!
Congratulations to Jairo Arcos, third-year PhD student @UFPlantbreeding, for 2nd place in the oral talks @FSHS_Hort 2025 meeting! His talk was "The Effect of Phosphorus Fertilizer Rates in Romaine and Iceberg Lettuce in Histosol Soils". Way to go, Jairo! @UfLettuce @EvergladesREC
Congrats to @JsKehal and @srvictor121 for winning travel grants to present their research on compost topdressing and nitrogen-fixing bacteria on turf at the FSHS conference. Also, congrats to @srvictor121 for placing 3rd in the poster competition! @UFTurfTeam

Yesterday, our team was incredibly proud to be honored on the Senate floor. Florida legislators officially declared April 22nd as Florida Wildlife Corridor Day! Together, we’re protecting the Florida we love — for today, and for generations to come.
