A pleasure to be back in #Rwanda, to quickstart new research activities on #cassava-#legume #intercropping. Including three days well spent in the field visiting @oneacrefundRW stations in Kayonza & Karongi, & @CANALLS_Project trials in Kamonyi.

🚨📢#JustPublished by @CIMMYT @Cirad & @Rothamsted Our study led by @jcairns77 demonstrates that participatory #maize breeding trials in #Zimbabwe takes the diversity of smallholders into account, & highlights differences btw #women-headed households 👉 tinyurl.com/y3rpvc4m

Earlier this week: training on #yield gap analysis of @oneacrefundRW & @RwandaAgriBoard staff in Karongi #Rwanda. (acknowledging @jvasco323 who taught me most of what I know on the subject).

Intense week spent in #FrenchGuiana visiting #farmers, interviewing them & collecting samples to better understand the #cassava witches' broom #disease, an emerging disease in the region, through a project led by @Cirad & funded by @Agri_Gouv.

Great 2 weeks in #Congo #Brazzaville, supporting the 'Programme d'Utilisation Durable des Terres' funded by @CAFISecretariat & @AFD_France. Among other things, we collected data to develop an allometric model to estimate #cassava yield non-destructively. @Cirad @AidaDirecteur

🚨#JustPublished "Farm resilience to climatic risk. A review" in @ASD_INRAE with @Cirad and @PPS_Wur More comprehensive assessments are needed to measure farm #resilience, especially for #smallholders. For this, we are proposing 6 guidelines #OpenAccess👉doi.org/10.1007/s13593…

Can mechanisation transform rural livelihoods? Research through an #ACIAR-funded project in 🇿🇼 reveals that equitable mechanisation translate to: 📈 income 📈 land/labour ratios 📈 market access ✅post-harvest and irrigation equipment use More: bit.ly/4heGv1x #SDG17
