United States Congresswoman, proudly serving Texas’ 18th District 🚀and continue the legacy of my late mother Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee
As I step forward to serve the unexpired term left by my mother, I recognize the profound responsibility that comes with this role. It’s not just about filling a seat; it’s about honoring a legacy of leadership, empowerment, and community service that she exemplified.

I am keeping the families affected by the catastrophic flooding in Texas in my heartfelt prayers. As a educator and former Congresswoman, I am truly heartbroken to see children missing and communities suffering through such devastating events. Let us come together as Texans!
Today marks one year since we lost Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, a true Social Justice Legend (S.J.L). ❤️🤍💙 This day holds deep meaning as we continue to honor her legacy, not just for Houston, but for the entire state of Texas, this nation, and the world.
“I had about 200 kids — scared, cold, and terrified. Probably the worst day of their lives.” Coast Guard rescue swimmer Scott Ruskin shares how he helped save 165 people during the devastating Texas floods at Camp Mystic.
Today, I want to make it clear: If Judge Lina Hidalgo chooses not to run for re-election, I, Erica Lee Carter, will be running for Harris County Judge. This community means everything to me, and I’m ready to step up and lead on the issues that matter most to Harris County.

I am honored to join the @linksinc in the @LinksHouston chapter as one of the newest members with Harris County Clerk @TeneshiaforHC and @PVAMU President Dr. @PVAMU_Pres! My late mother- Congresswoman @JacksonLeeTX18 was a proud Link!

From a reliable source: If County Judge Lina Hidalgo decides not to run for re-election, then former Congresswoman Erica Lee Carter would consider entering the race. I've been told that she's taking steps to prepare should the seat become open. #Houston #news

A #GoodFriday around #TX18. From Hobart Taylor Park in NE to Cliffdale Baptist Church in #AcresHomes. It is a joy to see the smiles on all our young residents faces and to also see many count their blessings including a 98 year old resident. Her secret to a long life is to…
Congratulations to my former colleague, Congresswoman @BarbaraLee_CA on your victorious win as Mayor-elect of Oakland. I know if my mother, Sheila Jackson Lee, were still with us, she’d be in Oakland standing by your side as you’re sworn in. Congratulations again, my friend.
Oakland! This evening’s results are encouraging. I decided to run for Mayor knowing that Oakland is a deeply divided City–and I ran to unite our community. We worked hard every day to earn every vote! Thanks to you, in our 100 day campaign our Faith, Labor and Business…

A proud day as the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee was honored with Terminal E at Bush Intercontinental Airport named in her memory. She served nearly 30 years & helped secure over $125M in federal funds for Houston airports. Her legacy lives on. @JacksonLeeTX18

Six years ago, @CoryBooker gave my mom her flowers, and she gave him his for being a dynamic leader in the Senate. I know she’s watching from heaven, so proud as he makes history and causes good trouble. The Late Congresswoman Jackson Lee would’ve been right there by his side.
My mother, the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee would be proud of @CoryBooker! If she was here, she would be watching him get in #GoodTrouble and make History! @JacksonLeeTX18

Congressman Sylvester Turner sadly passed away on Wednesday, March 5. His home-going service took place on Saturday, March 15. Why hasn’t the Texas Governor called a special election to fill this vacant seat?
They were both right. About everything.
