Home safe and sound! Love Summer League and @SportsBizClass, but it was so good to see my wife and daughter after eight days away from them. Family is everything! I'd accomplish nothing without their support. Now, to get caught up on the moves from the weekend! #BallNeverStops

I'm all for criticizing the system, the NBA/NBPA when apt . I don't love the 65-game requirement and frankly think the supermax is an unneeded legacy item from a prior era. Blaming aprons when 2/3 of the league doesn't pay tax is easier than doing the homework

I mean, the Jazz just guaranteed Svi's contract and he has the same agent as Lauri. Lakers don't have ownership of this sort of thing
I don't know the future for Bradley Beal, but the Lakers could give him a two-year minimum contract (player option on 2nd year, which is semi-standard for a name vet taking a "below market deal"), after waiving Shake, land just below the 1st apron
I have no initial intel that the Lakers are close to anything re: trade. There's a limit to what intel is available for any reporter
So this means a trade has to be coming right?
A player needs to re-sign for a minimum of two years on Early Bird. The deal with Hayes was the most the Lakers could pay him for one year, without using the Bi-annual to keep him
So instead of just using early bird rights they chose not to? Why on earth would they do that?
