So not only are you going to pay more in rates (some suburbs up by a whopping 18%!) but you’re also going to be slugged with a new ‘health’ tax of $250 a year. This ACT Labor government cannot deliver essential healthcare without taxing you an extra levy.

Not a single ACT Minister has taken any responsibility for the CIT corruption scandal. Ever.

“The conduct seriously undermined the probity of the procurement process, enabled a substantially unjustified contract, and, was directed to obstruct or hinder administrative and government oversight.” Read the full report here 👉🏼 integrity.act.gov.au/__data/assets/…

Care provides support to Canberrans on low to moderate incomes who are facing financial challenges. It was good to catch up with Carmel and Geoff to learn more about Care’s important work. If you or someone you know is experiencing financial hardship👇🏼carefcs.org/contact

School holidays are in full swing! Canberra, it’s been freezing…so let’s make the most of it. Have you had a chance out any of the activities on offer during Winter in the City? More info here 👉🏼 winter.inthecity.com.au

No one can deny the importance of procedural fairness for serious corruption investigations. But the community is right to be frustrated we still have no final report more than three years after @ACTIntegrity confirmed its investigation into those CIT contracts. @canberratimes

Very fortunate to have the guidance, support, and encouragement from a @LiberalAus legend the Hon. Margaret Reid AO. Margaret has been a great source of inspiration since I joined the party and she always makes time for me. Thank you Margaret!

Children’s birthday parties have definitely changed since I was a kid! As every parent knows, weekends are full of ferrying kids from one party or activity to another…and this one certainly came with a horsey surprise!

ACT Budget = out of touch with families, out of touch with small business abc.net.au/news/2025-06-2…
So the ACT Treasurer is slogging you with this outrageous $250 health tax because he says the feds won’t cough up… …except the federal Health Minister says that the Commonwealth is increasing funding for ACT hospitals by 16%. #BudgetFail

The headline says it all. All Canberra households will be doing it tougher with increases to rates, fees, and charges, plus a new $250 levy. This is a government that can’t deliver essential healthcare without slugging you with a new tax for it. @canberratimes
