We are seeing comments about #SpecialBallots that were not counted in the last election. The law is clear: Ballots that are returned after election day can’t be counted. We communicate the deadlines to inform electors. We also can’t count ballots that are never returned. (1/2)

We’ve seen some comments online suggesting that non-citizens can be #Candidates in federal elections. Just like with voting, to be a candidate you must be a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years old on election day. (1/2)

Voting by #SpecialBallot? To mark your ballot, you have to write the name of the candidate you are voting for. Don’t worry—We won’t reject a special ballot if you spell it wrong. If the ballot clearly indicates your intent, it will be counted. 🗳️
