According to the PAC report on DBT’s accounts, the Department should have notified Parliament of the financial commitments it made to the PO in its Letter of Support of December 2024. DBT had declined to do so on the grounds of its commitments being neither novel nor contentious:

Farncombe is immensely lucky to have ex-SPM Chirag Sidhpura still standing, still smiling, still serving his community. There’s nothing but respect for this humble hero who, like so many others, still fights for full & fair redress. When will it end? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

The Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry will publish Volume 1 of its Final Report at midday on 8 July followed by a live statement by Sir Wyn Williams at 12.30pm: postofficehorizoninquiry.org.uk/news/inquiry-p…
News yesterday that DBT has sent new guidelines to the HSS; a new process will exist for cases where a shortfall has not previously been identified. Claims will be considered on ‘the basis of evidence available’ which doesn’t bode well for cases where records have not survived:

The Minister outlines the legal support available through various PO redress schemes whilst skirting over the injustice that HSS claimants are ineligible for legal advice when making their original application. What’s he doing to address this glaring inconsistency?

The Postal Minister, Gareth Thomas, will not commit to a timetable for the Post Office to compensate victims of its 2024 data breach:

🌟Congratulations to the formidable Hear Our Voice who smashed their performance at the BGT final. Proud & united, they sang for all those affected by the PO scandal & reminded us that what survivors have achieved is truly Gigantic…if not yet finished…🌟 youtu.be/2DmNW0IlYVA?si…
🌟Britains Got Talent finalists Hear Our Voice stand as living testimony to just how much talent & spirit the Post Office tried to extinguish. Through the power of music, members from across the nation transcend their ordeal to share rays of strength, hope & camaraderie 🌟

🆘Hear Our Voice return for tomorrow’s BGT final. Behind this choir stands a hidden army of Post Office survivors too broken & weary to sing. But through music & friendship, some have overcome immense personal hurdles to sing for those who still fight & suffer in silence.🆘
This Saturday Hear Our Voice appear at the BGT Final with a universal message for our dark times. Mostly survivors of the PO scandal, the choir embodies the determination & unity which has sustained them through desperate adversity & unleashed a musical force to be reckoned with.
Lord Beamish raises Post Office Capture cases as a matter of urgency with the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Justice. CCRC deliberations are compounding the delay in resolving cases which predate the Horizon scandal but which are no less profound in their impact:

SOS: SUPPORT OUR SUB-POSTMASTERS Out of the ashes of this appalling scandal, PO survivors come together in a gesture which is more uplifting, more powerful & more eloquent than any of the political rhetoric & empty promises they’ve heard over the years: BGT, ITV, 7pm tonight.
